Singapore Airlines has become the launch customer of the first ever Boeing 787-10 aircraft.
The latest addition to the Dreamliner family was received by the airline in a ceremony at Changi Airport last month where, along with other distinguished guests, Singapore’s Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Minister for Transport, Mr Khaw Boon Wan attended. It was also here that the airline’s next-generation regional cabin products were unveiled.
Singapore Airline’s Business Class on the new Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner includes brand new seats which unfold into 76-inch long fully-flat beds with just a touch of a button. Seats are padded with ‘Alcantara’, the same material used in luxury sports cars and yachts interior, with a 1-2-1 cabin configuration to enable direct aisle access at every seat.
Meals are tailored to the altitude to optimise both taste and nutrition. Other features include an 18-inch full high-definition touchscreen monitors, in-seat power options and compartments for stowing personal items, and adjustable privacy dividers at the middle seats.
Commenting at the delivery flight from North Charleston, Singapore Airlines CEO, Mr Goh Choon Phong said, “The 787-10 is designed with the latest in technological innovations and SIA is proud to be the launch customer for this newest and largest variant of Boeing’s Dreamliner family."

Singapore Airlines’ new Boeing 787-10 will be deployed on flights of up to eight hours and will begin flying between Singapore and Perth from May 7, and between Singapore and Osaka in the same month. But before this, the aircraft will be utilized on crew familiarisation services to Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.
Singapore Airlines is the largest customer for the new Boeing 787-10 aircraft, with 49 firm orders with Boeing.
