QF to Cancel 28 Flights Due to Industrial Action

Qantas says more than 6,000 passengers will be affected by the planned Transport Workers Union strike action tomorrow, with an updated schedule just released showing that 28 flights have been cancelled. The carrier said it had been able to significantly reduce the full impact of the walkout by using larger planes and “deploying Australian-based Qantas management to act in operational roles". The four hour strike may have further impacts over the next two days as a result of the flow-on effect of the industrial action plus a 48-hour ban on working higher duties. As well as the 28 cancellations, a further 27 services will be delayed by up to 35 minutes, with affected customers to be contacted by the airline.
