Malaysia Airlines Receives Their First A380

 

Malaysia Airlines’s first Airbus A380, the new flagship aircraft and pride of the national Malaysian carrier, touched down at KL International Airport (KLIA) at 3:35pm on 30May12. The first of six A380s ordered by Malaysia Airlines, departed on its maiden journey from Toulouse, France and arrived safely on schedule in KLIA.

Malaysia Airlines is the eighth operator of this super-jumbo and the first in the world to receive the aircraft for training purposes before returning to Toulouse for final touches.

Malaysia Airlines’ A380 has a seat configuration of 494 comprising 8 First Class and 350 Economy Class seats on the main deck and 66 Business Class and 70 Economy Class seats on the upper deck.

The national Malaysian carrier will commence thrice weekly commercial operations of the A380 on the Kuala Lumpur-London-Kuala Lumpur route effective 01Jul12. Daily A380 operations on this route will start from 25Aug12 when the second aircraft joins their fleet.
