InterContinental Hotels looking after Oprah’s audience

The InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has officially been named the accommodation partner to host Oprah’s American audience during their stay in Australia this month.

More than three hundred excited Americans arrived in Sydney on Tuesday morning for ‘Oprah’s Ultimate Australian Adventure’ and the subsequent filming of three episodes of her popular television series.

IHG will also accommodate Oprah’s one hundred plus production crew at InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn properties throughout Australia.

Andrew McEvoy, Managing Director, Tourism Australia felt IHG were the ideal company to showcase Australia.
“We were looking for a partner with extraordinary hotels in the many key locations that The Oprah Winfrey Show’s audience will experience during their Australian adventure.

“IHG’s strong brands will help us show why there really is nothing like Australia," he said.
Bruce McKenzie, CEO Australasia for InterContinental Hotels Group, was adamant Tourism Australia had made the right decision.

“This is an extraordinary opportunity, not only to share our brands, products and experiences with viewers in 145 countries, but also to contribute to showcasing Australia’s appeal to a truly global audience.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming The Oprah Winfrey Show’s viewers," he said.
