Emirates has been named the best airline for in-flight meals according to a survey by Skyscanner. The flight comparison site’s data showed that passengers liked eastern influenced food as six airlines from Middle East and Asia were in the top 10. No North American carriers feature in the list. “Airline food is notorious for being bland and perhaps it is the use of these strong eastern flavours and spices that is contributing to their popularity,” said Barry Smith, director of Skyscanner. “Individual menus are carefully planned for each route we serve to ensure we cater for the diverse cultures and preferences of our international customers,” added Robin Padgett, vice president – aircraft catering at Emirates. “It is particularly rewarding to have received this accolade directly from the most discerning of judges – the travelling public.”
