Crystal Cruises has revealed the results of a major US$17 million refurbishment of its Crystal Serenity liner, including the addition of a new top room type, the Crystal Penthouses.
The new penthouses measure 125m² and feature floor-to-ceiling windows and private outdoor decks.
Crystal said the new penthouses were “inspired by the classic flats of London” and this is reflected with touches including butler’s pantries, libraries and wood floors. The master bedrooms feature walk-in closets and new seating areas, while bathrooms feature glass showers and spa flotation tubs with ocean views, as well as TVs built into the mirror.
Other technological amenities in the new suites include large Bose VideoWave III flat screen televisions in the living rooms, iPod docking stations and surround sound audio systems.
In addition to the penthouses, Crystal Serenity will feature a range of 70 new ‘PURE’ staterooms, which come equipped with air and surface purification systems that remove allergens and other airborne impurities from the room.
The revamped liner also now features a chef’s herb garden, which forms part of a series of green vertical walls.
