British Airways Doubles Glasgow Airport Lounge Capacity

British Airways has unveiled its new £800,000 Executive Club lounge at Glasgow Airport.

The 452sq m development can accommodate up to 150 customers, double the capacity of the previous facility.

Designed by Glasgow-based Graven Images, the new lounge features a unique ‘Glenlivet Whisky Snug’, the first of its kind in a British Airways lounge, showcasing the finest single malt Scotch whiskies.

In keeping with the theme, the snug also features lamps made from whisky decanters by Lee Broom.

Other features include:

  • bistro and coffee area
  • full complimentary bar
  • business suite with printer and PCs
  • fully enabled complimentary wifi

Reflecting the significant contribution made by British Airways to the Scottish economy, many elements of the new lounge feature the materials and skills of Scottish companies, including the Bridge of Weir Leather Company and Bute Fabrics.

Harris Tweed has been used for the lampshades throughout the lounge and the walls are decorated by the work of talented young artists who graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 2012.

Jim Keegan, BA’s regional customer services manager for the UK and Ireland, said: “The new lounge represents a significant investment and demonstrates British Airways’ continued commitment to delivering customer service excellence, both in the air and on the ground for those travelling on our services to and from Glasgow Airport.”
