Bookings to Scilly Isles Doubles Off Royal Wedding Fever

Brits are said to be flocking to the Scilly Isles after it was rumoured to be a Royal Wedding honeymoon location. According to Shearings, bookings to the islands have doubled in the last few weeks and marks a 17 percent rise in bookings compared to the whole of 2010. “There is clearly a growing excitement that the Royal Honeymoon could take place on the Islands and visitors to the Simply Scilly website are climbing by the thousands every day,” said Julian Pearce, economic development officer for the Council of the Isles of Scilly. “It’s still speculation, but the news has undoubtedly put the Islands on the national and international radar, with a lot of internet activity coming from mainland Europe and the USA, in addition to the UK.”
