Known as one of the cleanest cities in the world, Singapore is home to a fascinating combination of old and new. With extraordinary gardens, great food, excellent shopping and impressive architecture visitors are sure to find plenty to keep them entertained.

Winner of many awards, Gardens by the Bay is a sanctuary for nature lovers with its spectacular showcase of lush greenery intertwined with creative architecture in an entertaining and educational way. Spanning 101 hectares located by the Marina Bay Waterfront with four distinctly different areas to keep you entertained.

Firstly, the Flower Dome – one of the Gardens by the Bay’s most spectacular attractions with the world’s largest glass greenhouse and changing floral displays showcasing flowering plants from five continents. Next up is Floral Fantasy – comprises of three indoor conservatories inspired by fairy tales, hanging gardens and creative floral arrangements. Be sure to stop by a vivarium populated by tiny poison dart frogs in a gamut of stunning hues. The well-known Cloud Forest – is home to the world’s largest indoor waterfalls and unique aerial walkways. Finally, the Supertree Grove – a vertical garden spanning up to 50-metres high with an impressive observation deck offering an unforgettable view of the gardens and the Singapore skyline. Be dazzled as night falls with the ‘Garden of Rhapsody’ as the Supertrees light up in perfect synchrony with curated soundtracks with free nightly shows.

The next iconic attraction is perhaps Singapore’s most famous landmark, Marina Bay Sands, an integrated resort with three 55-storey towers of extravagant hotel rooms and luxury suites. The resort features the world’s largest rooftop Infinity Pool, award-winning dining and a wide range of shopping and entertainment venues. More eye-catching architecture can be found at the Esplanade, a world-class performing arts centre made up of two rounded glass domes fitted with over 7,000 triangular aluminum sunshades transforming the Singapore skyline.

As you meander the promenade overlooking Marina Bay, check out the 28-foot Merlion statue, a half-fish, half-lion stone carving that shoots water into the bay, symbolising Singapore’s beginnings. Other famous landmarks worth a visit are the National Gallery, housing more than 9,000 works, the elegant St Andrew’s Cathedral and Art Deco Parkview Square, surrounded by sculptures and statues.

If you are looking for something different to fill your days, head over to Kampong Glam, Singapore’s Muslim quarter for some colourful street murals, traditional Arab crafts, delicious food and hipster stores. Haji Lane is a pedestrian-friendly lane where all the action takes place. Alternatively, for a little more sunshine, take a trip out to one of Singapore’s many islands, including the lively Sentosa or the more historic, traditional Pulau Ubin, there are plenty of islands to explore during your stopover in Singapore.

If you’re travelling with the family, Singapore has many adrenaline-filled adventure parks including Universal Studios, Adventure Cove Water Park, Dolphin Island, iFly Singapore and Resort World Sentosa that will be sure to impress any thrill-seeking family members. For a more subdued outing, try the Singapore Zoo, the Singapore Flyer (a giant observation Ferris-Wheel) or the Botanic Gardens.

Singapore also boasts many unique and spectacular walkways, try the 10km Southern Ridges boardwalk for fantastic views and a floating experience among the treetops or the Henderson Waves Bridge walk, spiraling its way across the city.
