Petra is undoubtedly Jordan’s most valuable treasure and greatest tourist attraction. The massive site contains tombs and temples exquisitely carved into pink sandstone cliffs, also known as the Rose City. The most visited structure in Petra is the Treasury, named Al Khazneh. A day tour does leave you ample time to do side trips or tracking. The best hotel in Petra is the Movenpick Petra Resort. Wadi Rum, the dramatic red-rock desert, is approximately an hour and a half drive from Petra.
