SICILIAN CAROUSEL – 8 Days

Itinerary

Day 1 Saturday: Catania
Independent arrival at the hotel. Welcome drink, dinner and overnight at your hotel

Day 2 Sunday: Catania, Siracusa, Ragusa
After buffet breakfast, depart for Siracusa and visit the archeological area including the famous Latomie of the Paradise and Dyionisios Ear. Continue to the island of Ortigia, historical centre of the city. Lunch on your own. Visit the Cathedral and Arethuse fountain. Depart for Ragusa and accommodation at hotel. The evening we will make a fascinating visit to the historical centre of Ibla and dinner in a famous restaurant with a typical Sicilian menu. Overnight.

Day 3 Monday: Ragusa, Piazza Armerina, Agrigento
After buffet breakfast depart for Caltagirone, famous centre of Sicilian ceramics production. Continue to Piazza Armerina and visit the world renowned Villa Romana del Casale with its well preserved mosaics. Lunch in a local restaurant with a special menu giving you the opportunity to taste the local specialities. Depart for Agrigento and visit the Valley of the Temples. Accommodation at hotel and dinner at your hotel. After dinner, unforgettable tour of the Valley of the Temples by night.

Day 4 Tuesday: Agrigento,Monreale, Palermo

After breakfast depart for Palermo. Accommodation in hotel. Time at leisure and lunch on your own. In the afternoon visit Monreale: visit the Cathedral, one of the most beautiful monuments of the world, and the Benedictine Cloister in Arab-norman style. Continue on to visit the historical centre of Palermo, one of the largest in Europe (including the Cathedral, Palatine Chapel, the Royal Palace). Accommodation at hotel. Dinner, overnight.

Day 5 Wednesday: Palermo, Segesta, Erice,Trapani, Palermo
After buffet breakfast depart for Segesta to admire the Temple and the Theatre surrounded by a suggestive landscape. Continue to the medieval village of Erice, on the top of a hill, and walk through its tiny, characteristic streets. Lunch on your own.To Trapani to view the working salt windmills. Return to Palermo. Dinner at a local restaurant. Accommodation at hotel.

Day 6 Thursday: Palermo, Cefalù, Parco dei Nebrodi, Taormina, Giardini Naxos

After buffet breakfast, depart for Cefalù and visit the arab-norman Cathedral. Enjoy a walk in the streets of the small village and continue to the Park of "Nebrodi". Stop at the Miraglia Forest for lunch with a typical menu. Continue to Cesarò, Randazzo and visit the Etna park from an unusual point of view, the North part. Indescribable landscapes will appear in front of your eyes. Arrive in Giardini Naxos, dinner, overnight at your hotel.

Day 7 Friday: Taormina, Giardini Naxos
After breakfast, full day at leisure in one of the most famous Mediterranean resorts. Enjoy this by walking through the streets of Taormina, a town that has inspired a lot of artists. For those interested, there is the possibility of an optional excursion to Mount Etna (up to 1800 m or ascent to 3000 m). In the evening be ready for a farewell dinner at your hotel.

Day 8 Saturday: Giardini Naxos
After a buffet breakfast, end of your tour.
