NORTHERN DELIGHTS – 8 Days/7 Nights
Itinerary
Rome – Assisi – Siena – Florence – Pisa – Padua -Venice – San Marino – Rome
Day 1 Friday or Sunday: Rome
Meet & greet at airport, transfer to Hotel. Arrive at the Hotel and overnight.
Day 2 Saturday or Monday: Rome – Assisi – Siena – Florence
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart at 7.30 am from hotel Diana/Metropole by deluxe motor coach to Assisi. Time at leisure in this small medieval city. We recommend a visit to the San Francesco’s Basilica, where you’ll find Giotto’s and Cimabue’s masterpieces. Free time for lunch (not included). Driving on the “Autostrada del Sole" we’ll arrive in Siena. This gothic city is constructed on three hills in the heart of Tuscany. This monumental, medieval city is encircled by its ancient walls and is famous for its splendid square “Piazza del Campo", designed in the shape of a shell. Here, every year the famous “Palio" takes place. Also see the elegant Palace and the Cathedral. In the afternoon proceed to Florence. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.
Day 3 Sunday or Tuesday: Florence
Breakfast at the hotel and a morning city tour where you can appreciate the artistic beauty of Florence with its Dome by Brunelleschi, the Bell tower by Giotto and its Baptistery. The tour continues through Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio and finally the church of Santa Croce. Time at leisure and then return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4 Monday or Wednesday: Florence – Pisa – Padua – Venice
Breakfast at the hotel and depart for the excursion to Pisa. This quiet, graceful town shows signs of its past greatness in the famous Piazza del Campo, better known as the “Square of Miracles" where we find the Cathedral, the Leaning Tower (a Romanic bell tower of 58mt) and the Baptistery. We then depart for Padua and a short visit to St. Anthony’s Basilica, continuing on to Venice, the city of gondolas. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.
Day 5 Tuesday or Thursday: Venice
Breakfast at the hotel and then visit this mysterious city built on 177 islands, 150 canals and 400 bridges. The sightseeing includes the panorama of St. Mark’s square and the Doge’s Palace (external). During the morning the group will stop in one of the famous of Murano glass shops. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.
Day 6 Wednesday or Friday: Venice – San Marino – Rome
Breakfast at the hotel and depart by private motorcoach from Piazzale Roma to San Marino. Arrive in one of the smallest states in the world that still has its own currency, stamps and has preserved its political system for over nine centuries. Free time for lunch (not included). In the afternoon arrive in Rome – the Eternal city. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 7 Thursday or Saturday: Rome
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart at 08:00 am to visit this famous city and its artistic beauties among which are Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon, Castel Sant’Angelo and the San Peter square with its basilica. Afternoon at leisure and overnight at the Hotel.
Day 8 Friday or Sunday: Rome
Breakfast at hotel, transfer to the airport. End of services
