TAWI LODGE is ideally located, facing Kilimanjaro. Environment friendly, this new boutique hotel is perfectly integrated with the environment. Small ponds with papyrus brings the precious water to the bio pool. 12 cottages with makuti roofs offer spacious and comfortable rooms.

The decoration is simple and elegant with wooden decks and floors, large four-poster beds, fireplace, bathtub and separate toilets and showers all facing the Kilimanjaro. Tawi Lodge offers an extraordinary bar at the feet of a beautiful tortilis tree, a spa with massages and hot bath, a wine cellar, a library in the mezzanine with deep sofas and a living room decorated with

Highly knowledgeable guides lead expeditions through the Masai Mara in open-sided four-wheel drives. These experiences are tailored around your preferences, and can be as active or leisurely as you like.

Fairmont The Norfolk, Nairobi

The Norfolk is Nairobi’s grandest and oldest hotel. Set in mature gardens in the centre of the city, it has been a meeting place and first port of call for generations of travellers to East Africa’s spectacular game parks. Recently taken over by the Canadian Fairmont group, the Norfolk retains its century-old charm. The Norfolk has 165 rooms set around a central garden area, which despite being in the centre of downtown Nairobi has a wide variety of bird life.

Close to the National Theatre and the Central Business District, the Norfolk has all the amenities of an international hotel but retains an intimacy that others lack. All the rooms have en-suite bathrooms and satellite television. There is a choice of four restaurants at the hotel; they range from the grandest in Kenya to casual. All have very good food, as does the Delamere Terrace where city businessmen still meet for a drink after work and from where many a safari has set out in the hundred years since the Norfolk first opened its doors.
