From the rendezvous point at Pisa airport this 7 night tour takes in the best riding roads of the area and truly beautiful scenery. There will be plenty of delicious Tuscan cuisine to sample and the occasional glass of wine typical to the region.

Motorbikes will be collected on the first day (early afternoon) followed by a orientational circular ride to the first hotel. Participants travelling from far-a-field, (who may be ‘enjoying’ jet lag) may prefer the option of being driven to the first hotel (your bike will be trailered to the hotel). The following days and nights will present many opportunities for some spirited riding and some luxurious relaxation.

    * This tour may include some motorway riding and concentrates on good country roads
    * Days 3 and 6 may be used as rest days, some private touring or for local area rides with the guide.
    * A Ducati factory museum tour is organised for day 5 of this tour.

Itinerary

Day 1

The meeting point is Pisa airport at 12.30pm on the start date of your tour. If you cannot meet at this time, please contact us and we shall make alternative arrangements. From the meeting point you will be taken by the support vehicle to the DucatiTours base for a briefing and allocation of bikes. There are changing facilities available and there will be time to sort out any small items you would like to carry with you. When the group is ready we shall set off for an (approx.) 3 hour circular ride through the hills to the north of Lucca before returning to our selected hotel on the outskirts of Lucca. If any riders require items such as radio based intercoms, maps or road books, please let us know before your arrival. We advise all participants to bring a mobile phone that will work in Italy. Dinner is provided as part of the tour price in Lucca’s historic centre. (Please remember drinking and riding is strictly not tolerated!)

Day 2

The precise time for morning starts will be agreed by the group at the inital briefing but we generally don’t get started too early! The second days ride only covers about 100km as the crow flies. We however are not crows and, as Ducati riders, will be taking a more indirect route. The route takes in rolling hills, riding through a mix of forested, agricultural and vineyard covered landscapes. A lunch break is generally held near Massa Marittima before we head into the Siena area and the opportunity to look around the city if anyone is interested. The overnight stopover for this evening and the 3rd night is at one of our favourite hotels near the walled fortress city of Monteriggioni.

Day 3

The next day may be used as a rest day or there will be the option of following the guide for local circuits. The Same hotel is used for the 3rd night.

Day 4

We travel north across the heart of the Chianti area famous for centuries for its natural beauty and the limitless inspiration that it has lent to the world’s artists. Route and pace on this leg of the tour can be tailored to the group. The destination for the evening is our hotel south of Bologna so that we are ready for the factory tour in the morning.

Day 5

This morning includes the scheduled Ducati factory trip. After lunch we return south into Tuscany over some very entertaining roads through the Apennines and on to the next hotel near Reggello.

Day 6

Today can be used as a rest day or to for a circular trip into the hills of the Casentino and towards Le Marche.

Day 7

The last full day takes in a zig-zag route back towards Lucca passing south of Florence, round Vinci (birthplace of a certain Leonardo), past Pistoia and through the foothills of the Apennines. A farewell dinner is organised (included in the tour price) in one of Lucca’s finest restaurants with no need to ride the bikes afterwards

Day 8

The final morning bikes are returned to the DucatiTours’ base and all participants are transported back to the airport (or any other local location if your holiday is not ending here).
