Set in a World Heritage area Fiordland Lodge offers the discerning traveller comfort and privacy.
The elegance and splendour of the Lodge is mirrored in the breathtaking views of Lake Te Anau and Fiordland.
Private and serene, the Lodge is perfect for relaxation, or as a base for your Fiordland experience.
Warm, Spacious & Peaceful
The open architecture of Fiordland Lodge reflects the vastness of the Fiordland National Park. Echoes of the forest are found in the striking natural timber construction.
High ceilings, full trunk pillars and a massive riverstone fireplace provide a warm spacious environment with a sense of solidity and style.
A commanding staircase leads from the impressive lounge to a peaceful inviting mezzanine, complete with library and fly tying area.
Exceptional Food, Traditional Comfort
The Lodge's comfortable dining area serves excellent food coupled with superb wine from the cellar .
Sun dried and hand peeled New Zealand oregon logs feature throughout the building with exposed log beams and log trusses supporting sarked timber ceilings.
In the lounge, a lattice work of huge log trusses soar to over thirty-six feet above and surround a large open fire, clad with local river stone. This is a focus point where one can relax and reflect on the day's adventures and plan tomorrow's.
Large solid timber tables are fitted out in the dining area where local cuisine is a feature of the menu. The dining area is complimented by the wine cellar from where the evenings wine can be chosen.

Complementing the Fiordland Lodge's ten double guest rooms are two traditionally built log cabins, ideal for families, providing bed and breakfast.

The cabins are on an elevated site with magnificent views to the northwest, across Lake Te Anau and the mountains of Fiordland National Park.
Discover Fiordland
Te Anau and the surrounding area provide a wide variety of activities from passive sightseeing to adrenalin pumping adventure.
Fiordland's National Park is one of the world's most beautiful areas. Discover the magic of Milford Sound or Doubtful Sound.
New Zealand abounds in excellent walking tracks and here in Fiordland we are based at the gate-way to one of the world's greatest National Parks which is now part of the "Southwest New Zealand World Heritage Area."
The Te Anau and Fiordland region are promoted as the "walking and sight-seeing capital of the world" and rightfully so as in this region alone, there are over 500km of walking tracks and we believe the scenery just does not get any better anywhere. Fiordland Lodge is the departure point for the world famous Milford, Routeburn and Hollyford Tracks.
Fully guided golf tours of Southland and Otago are available golf tours, as are fly fishing, horse trekking and 4-wheel motorbiking to name a few.
A small sample of other activities include sea or lake kayaking, hiking, nature walks, alpine flower tours in the summer, bird watching and glow worm caves.
