Built to withstand the most extreme conditions, Explorer II is well equipped to handle the open-water cruising and icy channels ofAntarctic seas. Her speed, ice-strengthened hull, stabilisers and bow thrusts give her the power, stability and agility necessary toensure a safe, smooth passage for all on board. She also offers a degree of comfort unmatched in Antarctic cruising: All oceanviewstaterooms. A choice of restaurants. Only 198 guests. The best crew and service in the world…and plenty of deck space for viewingsplendour!
When you’re not out on deck whale-watching or glacier-gasping, you might be at a lecture, a briefing which you can also view on TV in the comfort of your stateroom or socialising in one of the lounges where the drinks are on us. Antarctic travellers are likely to besome of the most interesting people you’ll ever meet, and you’ll also get to know members of the expedition team, who mingle withguests in an atmosphere that is informal and unregimented. In case you didn’t get enough exercise (a rather unlikely possibility), youcan workout at the health club – or enjoy a massage or a movie.
People tend to build up hearty appetites when they’re adventure-cruising, so you’ll also be pleased to know that the cuisine on boardmeets our high standards of six-star excellence. In both dining rooms, you can select from imaginative international menus that alsoinclude a choice of spa cuisine and vegetarian dishes. The Verandah Restaurant is also open for breakfast and lunch, and as far asthe dress code goes, relax. There are only two evenings where a jacket is suggested.
