Itinerary
Days 1-3: Anchorage
Arrive in Anchorage and transfer to hotel. Relax in Anchorage and overnight at the Captain Cook Hotel. On Day 2 go on a short city tour of Anchorage and then in the afternoon experience a unique flightseeing tour of Denali National Park with a landing at 6,000 foot elevation on a glacier deep inside Denali National Park.
Day 3-7: Wrangell-St. Elias National Park
Take a private flight to the Wrangell-St. Elias region of Alaska. At 13.2 million acres, it could fit Switzerland and Yellowstone and Yosemite National Parks within its borders! The next 4 days call Ultima Thule Lodge home as private bush pilots take you on excursions throughout the region. One day, explore an abandoned gold mine, kayak and fish for salmon in a glacial river or hike in pursuit of Dall sheep across a mountain ridge. The next, land in the middle of the largest nonpolar glacier in the world for an undisturbed view of the earth’s largest pile of rock and ice, Mt. Logan. Lodge in Alaskanstyle luxury cabins with beautiful gardens. Your stay is fullboard and meals are prepared fresh daily by your hosts.
Day 7-10: Kachemak Bay/Homer
Fly from Ultima Thule Lodge back to Anchorage. Based on timing, fly onwards to Tutka Bay Lodge by seaplane that afternoon. For the next 3 nights enjoy the stunning water based scenery of the Kachemak Bay and enjoy activities such as hiking in old growth forest, fishing for greenling and cod, wildlife viewing and an optional bear viewing safari. For those of you passionate about food, we can also arrange a native Alaskan culinary experience in the kitchen at Tutka Bay Lodge focused on local food and traditionally inspired recipes. Return every evening to the Lodge for delicious home made meals from the award winning kitchen!
Day 10-12: Girdwood
Fly to Anchorage and end your Alaska adventure with 2 nights at The Hotel Alyeska in Girdwood, south of Anchorage. Spend your last full day going on a glacier hiking adventure, a helicopter adventure (with potential dog mushing based on season) or a day trip to explore the Prince William Sound. Enjoy the spa at Alyeska and dinner at the stunning Seven Glaciers restaurant at 2300 feet above sealevel — providing amazing views!
Day 12: Departure
Return to Anchorage for your departure flight.
