Oman Air is poised to officially join the prestigious Oneworld alliance on 30 June 2025, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s evolution. To enhance its Sindbad rewards program, Oman Air is exploring the introduction of a new top-tier status to align with Oneworld’s Emerald membership level.

Expanded Connectivity and Fleet Enhancements

Oman Air’s CEO, Con Korfiatis, has revealed plans to restore double-daily flights to London Heathrow by late 2026. This expansion will be made possible by reclaiming two valuable take-off and landing slots at Heathrow, which had been leased to another airline for several years.

Additionally, the airline is set to receive two new Boeing 787 Dreamliners in early 2025, with one showcasing a special Oneworld livery to commemorate its alliance membership. These advancements are part of Oman Air’s broader transformation strategy, which includes the introduction of new fare options—“Super Saver," “Comfort," and “Flex"—in both Economy and Business classes, launching on 3 December 2024, as announced by Chief Commercial Officer Mick Rutter.

Enhanced Global Network and Loyalty Benefits

Operating from its hub at Muscat International Airport, Oman Air connects to five Oneworld member hubs: Amman, Colombo, Doha, Kuala Lumpur, and London Heathrow. The airline also maintains codeshare agreements with key Oneworld members, including Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, and SriLankan Airlines.

From 30 June 2025, Oman Air’s Sindbad loyalty members will gain access to expanded earning and redemption opportunities across Oneworld member airlines. Additionally, reciprocal status benefits will enhance the travel experience, aligning Sindbad rewards with the alliance’s tier benefits.

Oman Air’s entry into Oneworld signals a bold step forward in delivering greater value and connectivity to its passengers worldwide.
