Superior Room
The Art Deco-styled Superior Rooms have been designed to create the feeling of being in a suite. The rooms are subdivided into discrete areas of bedroom, bathroom and dressing room with a privacy door that can close off the bedroom. The classic Art Deco furnishings and a colour theme of noble blue or celadon green, this is probably the most stylish, comfortable and convenient hotel room you will ever experience.
Deluxe Rooms
Deluxe Rooms blend traditional Peninsula standards of luxury and state-of-art technology with historical references in a stylish, glamorous setting. With city views overlooking the hotel fountain and forecourt or towards the historic 1920s International Settlement buildings.
Grand Deluxe River Room
The expansive Grand Deluxe River Rooms feature spectacular Huangpu River and Pudong skyline views. The welcoming lobby and exceptionally spacious and stylish living and sleeping areas give these rooms the grand feeling of an elegant suite. Bright and airy, space is accented with plush blue upholstery. These rooms are the perfect setting for in-room dining against a stunning river backdrop.
Suites
Executive Suite
Executive Suites are corner suites with windows on two sides with views of the gardens of the former British Consulate. The Art Deco narrative is expressed through soft earth tones and plush velvets on the sofas and armchairs. The entrance foyer acts as a conduit between the living room and bedroom and bathroom, and the suites can also connect to Deluxe Garden Rooms for additional accommodation needs.
Deluxe Garden Suite
Deluxe Garden Suites feature magnificent views over the gardens of the former British Consulate and offer a separate living/dining room with a dining table for four and a fireplace.
Deluxe River Suite
Deluxe River Suites have a choice of views over the Huangpu and Pudong or the Suzhou Creek and the historic Garden Bridge. The suites have muted tones of chocolate, grey, and beige that give an understated sense of luxury, A sophisticated sound system and 46-inch TV makes this room an intimate oasis of relaxation.
Grand Deluxe Suite
Grand Deluxe Suites offer guests panoramic views from the spacious sitting-room. The elegant circular entrance foyer has an impressive tapestry and connects each area of the suite. A spacious seating area and four-person dining table blend seamlessly with the executive desk and the host of high tech Peninsula amenities that includes a telescope for commanding viewing.
Grand Deluxe River Suite
To step into the Grand Deluxe River Suite at The Peninsula is a magnificent experience in Shanghai. Seeing is believing, from the imposing circular entrance hall with its tapestry, to this suite’s unique Bund, Huangpu River and Pudong views from the spacious sitting room, while the bedroom overlooks the former British Consulate gardens.
Premier Suites
The Astor Suite
The Astor Suite takes its inspiration from the origins of The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels’ beginnings in Shanghai with the Astor Hotel. Ensuring total privacy, the suite is an homage to Art Deco romanticism and is especially popular with honeymooners. A stunning landscaped outdoor terrace with outdoor seating, a dining area, and its own jacuzzi can be accessed from both the living area and the bedroom. Floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto the terrace bathe this suite in natural sunlight during the day, while mood lighting and exceptional views of the lights and atmosphere of The Bund create an intimate oasis at night. The Majestic Suite
The Majestic Suite is a dramatic statement of imperial luxury and opulence and also harks back to the Majestic Hotel that was part of the origins of The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited. The double-height ceilings and decorative fireplaces are truly magnificent, creating a vast living and dining environment fit for an Emperor. A private balcony overlooks Pudong, while the double-height dining room can seat up to 10-12 guests in true Peninsula style. A host of Peninsula amenities and services are included to make a stay in this suite an unforgettable experience.
The Palace Suite
The Palace Suite is another of the themed suites that take its name from an original Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels’ property, the Palace Hotel of the 1920s. The pièce de résistance of this spacious suite is its expansive 12,000 sq ft (1,098 sq m) wraparound terrace for entertaining in style, with spectacular views over The Bund and across the Huangpu River to Pudong and beyond. This unique space is the largest private terrace on The Bund and also features a marquee for all-weather entertaining, launches, and events. With a dedicated entertainment room with a grand piano and a pantry for discreet service, The Palace Suite is a fine example of lavish Art Deco style.
The Peninsula Suite
The Peninsula Suite is the hotel’s Presidential Suite, regularly hosting international dignitaries and celebrities. Offering breathtaking views of The Bund and to Pudong across the Huangpu River, this ultimate two-bedroom suite features a two-storey grand dining room, living room with a working fireplace and a balcony, study, guest powder room, private gym and a fully-equipped kitchen and pantry. The Suite includes a second bedroom and can connect with a Deluxe Room should a third bedroom be required.
