The name Mahu Whenua translates to ‘healing the land’. From the very beginning, the owner’s vision for Mahu Whenua was to regenerate the land of the four adjourning sheep stations upon which the homestead rests. The land stretches from Wanaka all the way to Queenstown and presents stunningly scenic alpine terrain. Mahu Whenua has been responsible for introducing sustainable farming practices, a native bird breeding program and extensive plant regeneration across the vast property to enormous success. Over 90% of the land is protected by covenants, and it is the largest conservation project undertaken on private land in the history of New Zealand.
This is your chance to experience an unforgettable eco sanctuary and lodge holiday in New Zealand.
