About Fairmont Mara Safari Club
Re-opened in 2009 following an extensive renovation program, the Fairmont Mara Safari club is a luxurious resort located in Kenya. Surrounded (on three sides) by the astonishing Mara River, and situated on the edge of the world’s Seventh “New” Wonder of the World – the Masai Mara. The Fairmont Mara Safari Club is the personification of tented luxury.
A top 20 Luxury Resort as awarded by Travel & Leisure Magazine, this 5-star hotel is host to a number of fine dining, safari and outdoor activities, with the main Masai Mara lodge at the centre of the camp home to an indoor restaurant, bar and a library with Internet access. Outside, a spacious deck overhangs the river and leads to a large swimming pool, complete with a bar and private massage tents.
Each of the 50 opulent tents at this grand Kenyan hotel is superbly furnished with a four poster, pillow-top bed and a veranda overlooking the river. But the luxury does not stop here, as each tent also houses a private, three-piece bathroom. The larger-sized accommodation also features expanded decks which allows for romantic private dining, a service the Fairmont Mara Safari Club has only recently started to offer.
Here, outdoor dining is enhanced with the creation of the Boma – a structure that has been heavily influenced by traditional Kenyan homesteads, allowing guests to experience a cultural dinner reflecting not only Africa cuisine, but also instilling a rich musical accompaniment.
