Fiji Airways Announces New Route to Dallas Fort Worth

Fiji Airways is expanding its presence in the mainland US with a new route to Dallas Fort Worth, starting December 2024. This marks the airline’s third mainland US destination, complementing its existing services to Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Dallas Fort Worth (DFW), the headquarters and major hub for American Airlines, will become more accessible thanks to this new route. This development follows Fiji Airways’ recent integration with the AAdvantage rewards program, paving the way for its full membership in the Oneworld alliance by 2025.

Passengers can look forward to a comfortable 13-hour flight on the state-of-the-art Airbus A350. The aircraft features 33 lie-flat business class seats and 301 standard economy seats, ensuring a pleasant journey for all travelers.

Starting December 10, 2024, Fiji Airways will operate flights between Nadi and Dallas Fort Worth three times a week—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

With the addition of Dallas, Fiji Airways now connects the Pacific island to five North American cities, including Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Vancouver. This new route not only offers seamless travel options but also positions Fiji as an attractive stopover destination, offering travelers the chance to enjoy two vacations in one trip or to unwind after business travels.

Andre Viljoen, CEO of Fiji Airways, expressed enthusiasm for the new route, stating, “This is a significant milestone for Fiji Airways as we enhance Fiji’s connectivity with the United States, providing our guests with more travel options."

Viljoen highlighted the potential for growth in the North American market, which currently accounts for only 13% of Fiji’s inbound tourism. He noted, “The Fiji-Dallas service will simplify travel for North Americans and AAdvantage members to the South Pacific, adding over 1,000 seats per week to Fiji’s pristine shores."

The airline also plans to attract Australian travelers, leveraging the fact that nearly half of Fiji’s inbound tourism comes from Australia. By promoting a US-via-Fiji travel route, Fiji Airways aims to offer Australians a convenient and exotic travel experience.
