Itinerary
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam)
Arrive at the airport, where you will be greeted by a Uniworld representative who will transfer you to the tranquil Park Hyatt Saigon hotel.
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam)
FEATURED EXCURSION: Ho Chi Minh City tour
Start the day off with a tour of the city’s incredible French Colonial architecture, followed by a visit to the Reunification Palace and War Remnants Museum. A Welcome Dinner with complimentary wine at a beautifully decorated local restaurant, complete with live traditional entertainment, caps off your day. (BB, WD)
Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City, transfer to My Tho (embark)
FEATURED EXCURSION: Cu Chi Tunnels
Enter the astonishing system of underground passages that stretch to the Cambodian border, and speak with a Viet Cong veteran. Then head to My Tho to embark on your memorable Mekong River journey. Enjoy a Welcome Reception and a Vietnamese Themed Dinner onboard. (BB, L, WR, VD)
Day 4: Cai Be, Sa Dec Sampan RideCultural Exchange
FEATURED EXCURSIONS: Sampan cruise, An Kiet House, rice-paper and candy-making shop, Sa Dec canal cruise, brick and rice factories, and Huynh Thuy Le house
Sail aboard a sampan for a tour of the historic An Kiet House. Next, visit a small family-run factory in Cai Be that makes candies, rice paper, and popped rice. Later in Sa Dec, visit a factory where bricks and tiles are made with Mekong Delta clay and fired with rice husks. Then sail through busy floating markets to the one-time home of Huynh Thuy Le, made famous by Marguerite Duras’s novel The Lover. (BB, L, D)
Day 5: Chau Doc, Chau Phong Island, cruising the Mekong River
FEATURED EXCURSIONS: Chau Doc harbor cruise and visit to Cham tribal village with fish farm
Join the locals in lively Chau Doc harbor as your sampan cruises among the traditional floating markets. Visit a Cham tribal village and a local fish farm. Then relax onboard your ship in the afternoon as it sets sail for the Cambodian border. (BB, L, D)
Day 6: Phnom Penh (Cambodia)
FEATURED EXCURSION: Phnom Penh city tour
The ship will dock in Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh, where you’ll enjoy a morning remork (motorcycle rickshaw) tour. Visit the Royal Palace’s Throne Hall and Silver Pagoda, which contains thousands of artifacts, including jewel-encrusted Buddhas, and features a floor tiled with pure silver. Then it’s on to the National Museum to see Angkor artifacts. Following lunch onboard, explore the city at your leisure. (BB, L, D)
Day 7: Phnom Penh (Cambodia)
FEATURED EXCURSIONS: Choeung Ek Memorial Stupa and grounds, and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum
Cambodia’s grievous experience under the Khmer Rouge regime is revealed at the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek. You will visit this memorial and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. This afternoon, following lunch onboard, explore the city at your leisure. (BB, L, D)
Day 8: Cruising the Tonlé Sap River, Kampong Chhnang, cruising the Mekong River

Your ship will cruise along the scenic Tonlé Sap River to Kampong Chhnang, a busy floating village. After your tour, relax on the ship’s sun deck and enjoy the stunning sunset. (BB, L, D)
Day 9: Kampong Cham, Wat Hanchey

Today in Kampong Cham, visit the Phnom Pros and Phnom Srey temples, where monkeys frolic among massive Buddhas. Later on, you’ll investigate historic sites dedicated to the Buddha. Eighth-century Wat Hanchey has wonderful views of the Mekong; stroll among the ancient and modern buildings, and then receive a traditional water blessing from the local monks. Day 10: Kampong Cham (disembark), transfer to Siem Reap
FEATURED EXCURSION: Siem Reap city tour via remork
Disembark and transfer to the Victoria Angkor Resort & Spa. Before checking in, enjoy lunch at a restaurant. Then hop on a remork for a tour of the city. (BB, L)
Day 11: Siem Reap (Cambodia)
FEATURED EXCURSION: Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom
You’ll begin your day at Angkor Wat, the most recognizable landmark in Cambodia and the largest religious monument in the world. The temple boasts the longest continuous bas-relief sculpture in existence. Today’s expedition encompasses the south gate of Angkor Thom, once the capital of the Khmer empire, and the pyramid temple of Bayon with its iconic (and enormous) carved heads. The afternoon ends with a walk around Baphuon Temple, the Terrace of the Elephants, and the moss-encrusted Terrace of the Leper King. Enjoy a traditional Apsara dance performance during dinner. Day 12: Siem Reap (Cambodia)
FEATURED EXCURSION: Banteay Srey and Ta Prohm
Today, you’ll visit Banteay Srey—considered to be the pinnacle of artistic achievement at Angkor—and Banteay Samré. In the afternoon, you’ll see the temple of Ta Prohm, which has been overtaken by the jungle; tentacle-like tree roots spill over millennium-old roofs, enveloping the entire structure.
Day 13: Siem Reap, fly to Hanoi
Enjoy free time in Siem Reap before your flight to Hanoi. Then, check into the elegant and serene InterContinental Hanoi Westlake hotel.
Day 14: Hanoi (Vietnam)
FEATURED EXCURSIONS: Hanoi city tour, Thanh Long water puppet show, “Hanoi Hilton,” and colonial Hanoi cyclo tour
Visit the famous One Pillar Pagoda during your tour of the city. You’ll also see the “Hanoi Hilton.” After lunch, step into a cyclo for an exciting tour of the colonial district and attend a water puppet show. Be treated to a Farewell Dinner at one of Hanoi’s most charming establishments.
Day 15: Depart Hanoi (Vietnam)
Transfer to the airport for your flight home, or continue your tour with a Ha Long Bay optional extension program.
