Cathay Pacific is soon to launch its newest lounge in its hub city of Hong Kong.
The new addition is actually a new edition and reincarnation of the airline’s former Dragonair lounge at Gate 16, and is scheduled to re-open this month. The Deck will join Cathay’s line-up of impressive flagship lounges The Wing, The Pier, The Cabin, The Bridge, and The Arrival.
With the new branding of the Dragonair regional arm comes a refresh and remodelling of the facility. While the space is not going to be enlarged – indeed The Deck will remain the smallest Cathay Pacific lounge at Hong Kong Airport – the space will be decked out in the airline’s new residential design currently on display at The Pier, and outfitted with signature amenities including The Noodle Bar.
The new departure lounge, which has been a year in the making, has been built from the contemporary designs of Ilse Crawford – London-based designer, and founder of Studioilse. The space will honour the One World member airline’s aim of affording each of its lounges their own identity.
The Deck will have an L-shaped terrace that can give passengers a feeling of being outside and thus the name ‘The Deck’. It will be located above gates 16 through to 19 at Hong Kong International Airport.
