Increase your knowledge of French wine. Tastings that are informative and fun. This package gives you lots of free time in Paris plus for those who enjoy wine this is a perfect opportunity to learn a little more about the different types of French wine from expert sommeliers.

Day 1:
Arrive at your hotel mid afternoon and settle in (Transfers can be arranged at an additional cost).
Depending on the day of arrival, you might like to take a cruise and Champagne tasting this evening at 6pm (available Thursday, Friday and Saturday). The tour will leave from the dock by the Eiffel Tower. Inside a private room at the front of the boat you will cruise down the Seine River while sipping Champagne. The sommelier will not only explain about the wine but will provide insight on the history and meaning of the monuments you will pass during the cruise. There will be three Champagnes to taste: Brut, Demi-sec and Rose. The cruise will last an hour and you’ll return to the dock at the Eiffel Tower.

Day 2:
The day is free for you to explore Paris.
At 5pm your wine tasting begins. The tasting will be held in an historic cellar right near the Louvre. You will taste six wonderful French wines including Champagne and expand your knowledge of French wine. The sommelier will teach you how to read a French label and how to navigate a wine list. You will also learn about wine techniques for appreciation and pairing food and wine. You’ll be acquainted with the major French wine regions and the interesting details that make French wines unique. You will learn fun and useful tips, including how to slurp wine with class. The tasting is for small groups of up to 12 persons and conducted on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Finish at 7pm. The rest of the evening is free.

Day 3:
The Day is free.
We suggest a visit to the Wine Museum of Paris, located in the former cellars of the 15th Century Passy Abbey. It is a unique and unusual place in which to find many items and tools of yesteryear. The cellars are lit by candlelight. It’s possible to do a visit of the museum with audioguide followed by a wine degustation. This visit is not included in the package, we will give you details of the Wine Museum. Cost of visit is E27 per person.

Day 4:
The Day is free.
Perhaps a visit to Lavinia. This wine megastore is reputedly the largest in Europe and situated right in the centre of Paris. You will find an astounding variety of wines from around the world, with an impressive display of Vintage Wine on sale. There is a restaurant upstairs open from 12 to 3pm (closed Sunday) where you can buy a wine from the bottle shop to enjoy with your lunch. We will give details of Lavinia with your booking.

Day 5:
Departure after breakfast.
