Itinerary

Day 1    Home Port – Vancouver (D)
Join flight to Vancouver. On arrival you will be met and transferred* to your hotel in the heart of one of Canada’s most beautiful cities. Tonight meet your Scenic Tours Tour Director and travelling companions for a ‘Welcome to Canada’ reception and dinner.

Day 2    EXCLUSIVE Capilano Suspension Bridge Nature Walk – Sun Peaks (B,D)
Today be the first to see the sunlight warm the dewed foliage and timbers of the forest with an early morning Exclusive Guided Nature Walk through the rainforest at Capilano Suspension Bridge. Today you will travel through the fertile farmland of the FraserValley and  take in the natural beauty of  the Cascade Mountain Range as you head east en route to SunPeaks. This evening enjoy dinner and a historic look into the fur trading industry and life as a pioneer. – EXCLUSIVE to Scenic Tours.

Day 3    Cariboo Mountains – Tete Jaune Cache – Jasper National Park (B,D)
Travel through British Columbia’s Cariboo region, enjoying tantalising glimpses of the soaring granite mountains of Canada’s Rockies. Stand at the base of awesome, 3,954 metre Mt Robson before arriving into Jasper. This afternoon relax and perhaps enjoy a stroll around Lac Beauvert. Scenic FreeChoice Dining. This evening choose where to dine from a selection of restaurants in Jasper. (applicable to tours accommodated at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge only). Day 5    Icefields Parkway – Glacier ‘Ice Explorer’ (B,D)
Today as you continue south enjoy breathtaking mountain scenery along the Icefields Parkway, acclaimed as one of the most spectacular journeys in the world. Board the ‘Ice Explorer’ onto the mighty Athabasca Glacier. Upon arrival at the beautiful Lake Louise enjoy a nature walk along the shoreline of the lake before dinner. Scenic FreeChoice Dining. A relaxing morning before visiting  Emerald Lake and Natural Bridge enroute to the township of Banff. Scenic FreeChoice Dining. Day 8    The Rocky Mountaineer Train – Kamloops (B,L,D)
Early morning transfer to Banff Railroad Station for a 2 day rail experience on ‘The Most Spectacular Train Trip in the World.’ Relax in your guaranteed Goldleaf carriage and experience unsurpassed levels of Dome Car service. Cross KickingHorsePass and view the glaciers and snowcapped mountains of RogersPass before arriving into Kamloops. Day 9    The Rocky Mountaineer – Vancouver (B,L)
Transfer back to The Rocky Mountaineer to continue your journey west. Follow the Thompson River and pass through the magnificent FraserCanyon and FraserRiverValley before arriving into Vancouver.

This morning enjoy a sightseeing tour of Vancouver including the waterfront, Gastown, Chinatown, Stanley Park and Granville Island. Day 12    Cheakamus Canyon – Howe Sound – Victoria (B)
Exclusive to Scenic Tours: Optional 1 Hr Floatplane Flight to Victoria. Leave the crowds behind and soar over the many scattered islands through the GeorgiaStrait to the historic capital of British Columbia, Victoria. Arrive early afternoon giving you more time to explore! (additional Expense).

Breakfast at your hotel and travel south along the Sea to Sky highway. Board a ferry and cruise through the GeorgiaStrait to Victoria.

This morning transfer by ferry to the mainland to join your luxurious cruise ship for your 7 night voyage through the famed Inside Passage to Alaska. Check into your Verandah Stateroom on HollandAmerica’s ms Zuiderdam and settle-in for an unforgettable cruise.

Day 15    Cruising the Inside Passage (B,L,D)
Spend the entire day cruising the Inside Passage one of the worlds’ most spectacular waterways as your ship threads her way past forests of spruce and hemlock, mountains, islands and inlets.

Day 16    Juneau, Alaska’s Capital (B,L,D)
Arrive into Alaska’s scenic capital city, Juneau. Learn the city’s Gold Rush story, drop into the Red Dog Saloon or visit the fascinating AlaskaStateMuseum. (Shore excursions are at own expense).

Day 17    Skagway (B,L,D)
Sail into Skagway with plenty of free time to go ashore and stroll the weathered boardwalks and false-fronted buildings as you step back to the Days of 1898.

Day 18    Glacier Bay (B,L,D)
Early this morning your cruise ship enters the iceberg-strewn waters of Glacier BayNational Park and Preserve, where 13 spectacular glaciers flow from surrounding mountains into the waters of the bay. Perhaps you will be lucky enough to see a pinnacle of ice ‘calve’ or break away from the face of a glacier to plunge into the bay. A National Park Service Ranger onboard the ship will help you spot wildlife, while pointing out sights and explaining glacier activity.

Day 19    Ketchikan (B,L,D)
Arrive into picturesque Ketchikan. Take the opportunity to visit TotemBightState Park and walk through the forest to a replica TlingitIndianVillage. (Shore excursions are at own expense).

Day 20    The Inside Passage (B,L,D)
A relaxing day as you travel south through the Inside Passage, shaped by glaciers millions of years ago.

Day 21    Vancouver – San Francisco (B)
Disembark early this morning and transfer to VancouverAirport to board your flight to San Francisco.  (Passengers purchasing Land Content Only flight is not included – Please do not book departure flight prior to 2.00pm)

Day 22    San Francisco
Today is free to explore San Francisco! Hop on a Cable Car, the best way to experience this compact city. Perhaps visit AlcatrazIsland, once home to some of America’s most notorious criminals (own expense).

Day 23    San Francisco (D)
Enjoy another day at leisure in this breathtaking city. This evening enjoy dinner with your Tour Director and fellow travellers.

Day 24    San Francisco – Monterey – 17 Mile Drive (FB)
This morning enjoy a brief tour of this remarkably compact city which, with its colourful mix of cultures is known for its air of sophistication. Continue south along the Pacific Coast to Monterey.  Stop en route at Cannery Row, made famous by author John Steinbeck. The original canneries of the attractive waterfront now house a fine selection of art galleries and handicraft shops. Continue through 17 Mile Drive, a spectacular set of twists on every must-drive list through Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach, famous for it’s golf courses and mansions.

Day 25    Yosemite National Park (FB,D)
Enjoy a day of scenic splendour as you experience the breathtaking beauty of the Sierra Nevada and Yosemite National Park. Yosemite has long been recognised as the one of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas in America and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The stunning 1,200 square mile park includes towering granite cliffs such as Half Dome and El Captain; waterfalls cascade from high above to the valley floor where meandering streams nourish the expansive and lush parkland.

Day 26    Yosemite Valley Floor Tour (FB)
This morning enjoy a tour in an open- air tram of the Yosemite Valley Floor. Rangers will introduce you to some of Yosemite’s most famous sightseeing points and describe the history, geology, plant and animal life of the region. The remainder of the day is yours to continue exploring.

Day 27    Las Vegas (FB)
Enjoy a dramatic change of pace and scenery as you travel into the ‘Silver State’ of Nevada. The arid planes of the Mojave Desert draw you into the neon lights of Las Vegas, a true 24 hour city!

Day 28    Las Vegas (FB)
Today is at leisure in Las Vegas. This ever-changing fantasy-land of a city has seen unbelievable expansion since it emerged from the desert just over 100 years ago. Perhaps take a trip to Hoover Dam and the awe-inspiring view of Grand Canyon (own expense)

Day 29    Hollywood – Long Beach (FB)
Head back to the coast of California to Long Beach. En route enjoy a sightseeing tour of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, where the handprints of the stars are immortalised, Sunset Boulevard and fashionable Rodeo Drive. Continue to Long Beach where the action begins and the fun never ends, from the regal Queen Mary and spectacular Aquarium of the Pacific.

Day 30    Catalina Island Cruise (FB,D)
Today Cruise across the beautiful Pacific Ocean to Catalina Island, the ‘Island of Romance’. Enjoy some free time to relax and explore the oceanfront shops in Avalon and take in the harbour’s serenity. This evening enjoy a farewell dinner with your fellow travellers.

Day 31    Long Beach (FB)
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel befor tranferring* to the airport for your homeward flight.

Day 32    Cross International Dateline
In flight, cross the international dateline.

Day 33    Arrive Home Port
Your tour ends with arrival into your home port.
