Itinerary

Your Journey starts Saigon, ends Hanoi

Days 1–3 ~ Saigon & Mekong Delta
Arrive Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and transfer to your hotel. This evening get to know your tour leader during your tour briefing and welcome drinks. While in Saigon we will stroll along the city’s historic Dong Khoi Street – the former Rue Catinat – and visit sites the Reunification Palace and War Remnants Museum, the amazing Cu Chi tunnels, and spend a day cruising the canals and rivers of the Mekong Delta.
Hotel: Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers

Day 4 ~ Dalat 2009vietnamdiscovery14daysdeluxe
A short flight takes us to the former French hill station, Dalat, a fascinating town of winding streets, quirky locals, colourful arkets and abandoned French villas. We enjoy the cool mountain air and rural vistas on a cable car ride, admire the faded Art Deco charm of the last emperor’s summer residence and pay a visit to a local artist monk.
Hotel: Evason Ana Mandara Villas at Dalat

Days 5–6 ~ Nha Trang
Travel through rustic villages and tea plantations of the Central Highlands, before making our descent onto the coastal plains, passing remnants of the ancient Champa Kingdom on our way to Nha Trang. Here, an island boat cruise gives us the chance to relax, enjoy a seafood feast and swim in the South China Sea.
Hotels: Evason Ana Mandara Resort & Six Senses Spa

Days 7–8 ~ Hoi An
We fly to Danang in Central Vietnam, visiting the city’s famous Cham Museum and nearby China Beach before arriving in Hoi An. Discover traditional houses and temples and the iconic Japanese Bridge on a walking tour and observe local life on a sunset cruise on the peaceful Thu Bon River. In your free time, take advantage of the town’s unique and delicious cuisine by joining a fun cooking class or if you’re an early riser, the local fish markets are a sight to behold!
Hotel: Victoria Hoi An Resort

Days 9–10 ~ Hue
Leaving charming Hoi An behind, we drive through spectacular coastal scenery to Hue, a laid back modern city and former imperial capital. We explore the city’s historic sites, including the Citadel, elaborate emperors’ tombs and the Thien Mu Pagoda. Travel like a local on a fascinating cyclo tour of the city and sit back and feel the wind in your hair as we take a cruise along the Perfume River.
Hotel: La Residence Hotel & Spa

Days 11–14 ~ Hanoi & Halong Bay
Fly to Hanoi, Vietnam’s oldest city and charming modern-day capital. Visit the ancient Temple of Literature and infamous Hanoi Hilton prison before an evening performance of Hanoi’s famous water puppets. The next morning, experience a cyclo ride through the fascinating Old Quarter and learn all about the life and legend of ‘Uncle Ho’ at his former home and mausoleum. We then travel to Halong City, where we stay overnight ahead of our cruise on magical Halong Bay. Return to Hanoi for some last minute shopping and a farewell meal. Your journey ends with an airport transfer on day 14.
