Day 1 (MADRID – ALMAGRO – VALDEPEÑAS – BAILÉN – UBEDA )
Depart Madrid heading south towards the Plains of La Mancha. Brief stop in Almagro, once the stronghold of the Order of the Knights of Calatrava. Continue the journey to Valdepeñas, a prosperous wine producing region and further south travel through Despeñaperros Mountain Pass to enter Andalucia. Travelling via Bailén we arrive in Ubeda. Accommodation at the beautiful Parador of Ubeda, a 16th century palace.
Day 2 (UBEDA – JAEN – GRANADA )
Buffet breakfast. Departure towards Jaen and on to Granada, the Pearl of Andalucia. Accommodation at the enchanting Parador, located in the premises of the Alhambra.
Day 3 (GRANADA – COSTA DEL SOL (MARBELLA & PUERTO BANUS) – RONDA )
Buffet breakfast. Visit the impressive Alhambra Palace and the beautiful Gardens of the Generalife. Departure to famous Costa del Sol, passing the resort of Marbella to arrive in Puerto Banus. Free time to browse before continuing along the mountain road to arrive in Ronda. Free time to see the Main Plaza and Spain´s oldest bullring. Accommodation at the beautiful Parador, perched on rock, looking over the gorge.
Day 4 (RONDA – SEVILLA – CARMONA )
Buffet breakfast and departure towards the province of Sevilla, crossing part of the Sierra of Ronda. Upon arrival in Sevilla, free time to explore the city including; the Plaza de España, the lovely Maria Luisa Park, the charming Santa Cruz Quarter and the impressive Cathedral which holds the Tomb of Christopher Columbus. Continue to Carmona for accommodation at the Parador, a beautiful 14th century Arab fortress.
Day 5 (CARMONA – CORDOBA – PUERTO LAPICE – MADRID )
Buffet breakfast. Departure to the Roman city of Cordoba to visit the magnificent Mosque and the old city quarter. Continue into Castile, to the town of Puerto Lapice. Brief stop in what is said to have been a Don Quixote inn. Continue to Madrid and drop off your hire car.
