Recently, Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023 were announced in Rio de Janeiro, where Peru placed nine (09) restaurants in the prestigious culinary list. Maido, Mitsuharu “Micha" Tsumura’s Nikkei Cuisine, claimed top spot. The list also includes Kjolle, Mayta, Mérito, Osso, Mil, La Mar, Rafael and Cosme. Whereas, while Central, as “the best restaurant in the world", was not eligible to participate in this category, it did step directly into the hall of fame as the Best of the Best. Lima’s historic centre was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988. As you wander the main plaza and Plaza San Martin it is hard not to wonder about its diverse architecture.
Visit Casa de Aliaga, one of Lima’s most historic houses. It has been owned by the family Aliaga and their descendants since Francisco Pizarro granted this ancient temple to one of his followers Jerónimo de Aliaga in 1535.
