Day 1 (Airport Malaga – Comares (60km))
Arrival at Malaga Airport where you will pick up your hire car. A lovely drive takes you into the green hills of the Sierra de Malaga to the white Moorish village of Comares. In the main square you will find the old olive mill, now converted into a charming hotel. Rooms are spacious and have their own private en-suite facilities. Its tranquil courtyard inspires many a painter to set up an easel to paint and the delightful dining room offers beautiful views across the valley. The region is famous for its muscat grapes and fine wines. Accommodation: El Molino de los Abuelos.
Day 2 (Comares)
A full day to take advantage of your car hire and explore the surrounding towns and countryside.
Day 3 (Comares – Iznajar (90km))
Situated close to Lake Iznajar in the heart of rural Andalucia, Cortijo La Haza is surrounded by olive trees and set in a peaceful location amongst the rolling hills of the Subbética Natural Park. This 250 year old Cortijo or farmhouse was recently restored with great care. There is a lovely terrace and garden with outdoor pool and great views. All of the rooms have private en-suite facilities and are decorated in authentic Andalusian style with traditional fabrics and warm colours. Accommodation: Cortijo la Haza.
Day 4 (Iznajar)
A full day for sightseeing of the area. Cortijo La Haza is ideally located for easy access to the motorway, making for an easy day trip out to Granada or even Cordoba at just 90 minutes drive away.
Day 5 (Iznajar)
A further day to relax in the white village of Iznajar or perhaps make a day trip out to visit the nearby towns of Loja and Antequera. Accommodation: Cortijo la Haza.
Day 6 (Iznajar – Ojén (170km))
A spectacular drive through the Gaitanes gorge and Sierra Blanca takes you to hotel La Posada Del Angel (Inn of the Angel), 7km above Marbella in the heart of Ojen, a typical white village of Andalucia. La Posada Del Angel is of “Mozarabe” Andalusian style and each room is unique in décor. Enjoy a relaxed breakfast in the patio, filled with potted flowers and fountains. Day 7 (Ojén)
A full day to head to the coast for some sightseeing or a day relaxing at the beach. Accommodation: La Posada del Angel.
Day 8 (Ojén – Malaga)
At the end of your time in Ojén, you will need to return your hire car to Malaga to fly out to your next destination.
