FLY AND AWAY

Sydney Highlights
Taking off from Australia’s first international airport at Rose Bay, it is hard not to be awed as beautiful Sydney Harbour unveils itself beneath. Our immaculately restored, classic Beaver seaplane adds to the nostalgia – such a contrast to the myriad of high-tech cruisers zigzagging the bay. As we gently exit the harbour rolling swells crash against the magnificent sandstone cliffs which rise abruptly from the sea. We fly along these cliffs at 500 feet until reaching world famous Bondi Beach. Our pilot manoeuvres the aircraft so that all on board have a great view, and we marvel at the hundreds of surfers waiting for the next big wave. From Bondi we head back into the harbour and climb to 1000 feet, even for a seasoned local the vista is truly stunning. We track all the way to the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, and complete a circuit above both famous icons. On descent back to Rose Bay our pilot points out the beautiful houses of the rich and famous that punctuate the area, including Nicole Kidman’s and the Prime Minister’s, before gently splashing back down to earth.

Sydney Secrets
For those wishing to treat themselves to the absolute highlights of Sydney’s famous coast and waterways the 30 minute ‘Sydney Secrets’ flight is a must! Encompassing the ever popular ‘Sydney Highlights’ scenic flight, we continue north from Sydney Harbour. Our experienced pilots know this area like the back of their hand and will point out the famous beaches along the route, including Manly, Curl Curl, Avalon and the iconic Palm Beach – where Australia’s favourite soap ‘Home and Away’ is filmed. We return to the Harbour via the yachties paradise of Pittwater. You will be amazed at the number of boats grouped around the nooks and crannies of this picturesque waterway. Our sedate, high wing beaver aircraft is perfect for still or video photography.

Cottage Point Inn
A mere 20 minutes flying time from the hustle and bustle of Sydney is the exquisitely tranquil and award winning Cottage Point Inn. This beautiful restaurant is perched on the waters edge in the heart of the Kuring Gai Chase National Park and is renowned for offering exceptional modern Australian cuisine. Upon landing we taxi the aircraft to the restaurant’s seaplane dock, where Cottage Point Inn’s friendly staff offer a warm welcome and any number of great Australian wines! After a leisurely 3 course à la carte lunch reboard your seaplane and return to Sydney Harbour. To top off a magical afternoon we offer you an incredible photo opportunity flying a circuit of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, before landing at Rose Bay.

Jonah’s
Perched high on the edge of a cliff, enjoying dramatic views of Whale Beach and the sprawling Pacific Ocean, Jonah’s at Palm Beach is one of Australia’s most prestigious ocean retreats. Something of a Sydney institution, Jonah’s salubrious guest list has included Laurence Olivier, Anthony Hopkins, Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall. Departing Sydney Harbour late morning your seaplane flight tracks north past Sydney’s spectacular northern beaches before touching down in the expansive waterway of Pittwater. Jonahs courtesy vehicle will meet you at the dock and transfer you the short distance to the restaurant. Celebrated chef Richard Purdue’s superbly crafted dishes integrate a strong Asian and European influence with the best of Australia’s fresh local produce, and are always impeccably flavoured and presented. The restaurant boasts 180 degree views of the Pacific Ocean, well spaced tables and a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Enticing you to leave such a stunning location is difficult, but we find the prospect of a glorious afternoon seaplane flight back to Rose Bay, encompassing a Sydney Harbour circuit in front of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House does it for most!

Romantic Picnic
We feel rather honoured to have been chosen as the occasion on which many have taken the plunge and proposed marriage! Its no surprise that most choose to do so on our romantic beach picnic. A seaplane flight along Sydney’s exquisite northern beaches sets the scene for a truly special day. Your pilot picks out a beautiful secluded beach, accessible only by seaplane or boat, and drops you complete with delicious picnic, Australian wine, beach rug and umbrella. From here you’re left to your own devices to relish in the beautiful natural setting, tranquillity and isolation. Bring a beach towel as swimming in the clear blue water is a must.

The arrival of our Beaver seaplane signifies it is time to return to civilisation. We try to make the transition a little easier by flying a lap of Sydney Harbour before landing in Rose Bay.

Catalina
Situated next to the Seaplane Base in Rose Bay, the award winning Catalina Restaurant is a wonderful space with unobstructed water-level views of the Harbour.

Combining our Sydney Highlights scenic flight over Bondi Beach and Sydney Harbour with an inspirational three course a la carte lunch at Catalina is a must for those wishing to enjoy a gourmet experience.

Peats Bite
Peats Bite is situated on a little slice of paradise on the Hawkesbury River. Since opening in 1982 Peats Bite has developed a reputation for long relaxed luncheons. It’s unique three-course menu incorporates banquet style entrees with à la Carte mains and desserts.

After pulling up to Peats own seaplane dock, sit back and enjoy the food, wine and live music. It is not uncommon for diners to have a between course dip in the pool or sit out on the lawn with coffee and dessert looking over the vista that is the Hawkesbury. The seaplane flight to and from Peats Bite offers an excellent insight into life on the Hawkesbury River and our aircraft glides over many oyster leases and ‘lifestyle’ holiday homes dotting the beautiful islands. The contrast could not be more dramatic as we complete the day with a circuit of central Sydney and her two centrepieces – the Harbour Bridge and Opera House.

Doyles
Opening in 1885 Doyle’s at Watson’s Bay is Australia’s first seafood restaurant! Family owned and operated for over 5 generations, it is unquestionably a Sydney institution. Offering both indoor and outdoor dining, the restaurant is located right on the foreshore of Watson’s Bay and overlooks the panorama of Sydney Harbour.

Choose from a Harbour Jet boat/Sydney Highlights flight combination starting at Darling Harbour or if you’re in the mood for something more serene indulge your senses with a magnificent pre-lunch Sydney Highlights scenic flight starting from Rose Bay. Once back on the water we’ll transfer you by boat the short distance to Watson’s Bay wharf and Doyles Restaurant.

Visitors to Watson’s Bay have the opportunity to enhance and appreciate the wonderful views and colonial connections by walking from the village to South Head. The walk takes in the Sydney Harbour National Park, passes Lady Jane Beach – (where clothing is optional!), and continues to Hornby Lighthouse. You’ll discover Camp Cove, the spot where the First Fleet landed in Sydney Harbour. You’ll see Watson’s Bay’s most breathtaking vistas are at The Gap – site of Sydney’s worst maritime tragedy when the Dunbar was shipwrecked in 1857. After lunch board the graceful Sydney ferry at your leisure for the return to Circular Quay.

Accommodation in Jonahs is in the newly completed ‘Jonah’s Suites’. Each suite features king-size beds, exotic hand-crafted furniture and limestone bathrooms with jacuzzi spa baths situated so guests can lay back and enjoy the spectacular view.

Private balconies off each suite offer guests a place to enjoy a pre dinner cocktail, massage or a secluded spot to entertain friends.

Guests at Jonah’s enjoy all the benefits of a five star hotel; beauty treatments by Jonah’s experienced spa therapist, 20cms shower-heads, gourmet room service, and complete block-out blinds for lazy long sleep-ins. Televisions with FOXTEL, DVD and CD players feature in every suite in addition to internet access, reverse cycle air-conditioning, hairdryers and Bvlgari toiletries.

The fly/accommodation package consists of return seaplane flights from Rose Bay Sydney, 3 course à la carte dinner, accommodation in Jonahs suites and cooked breakfast. Departure time is generally 3.30pm from Rose Bay, returning at midday the following day.

Cottage Point Inn
Accommodation is available in the Cottage Point Inn’s premier apartment. This self contained apartment has a large separate living area, complete with balcony perfect for pre-dinner drinks and looks directly over the Hawkesbury River.

The fly/accommodation package consists of return seaplane flights from Rose Bay Sydney, 3 course à la carte dinner, accommodation in the premiere apartment and continental breakfast in your room. Departure time is generally 3.30pm from Rose Bay, returning at midday the following day.

Peats Bite
Peats Bite offer accommodation in their quaint chalets, nestled next to the water’s edge. This package differs slightly from our normal accommodation packages by departing from Sydney in time for lunch at Peats Bite restaurant. Dinner is light with an antipasto or seafood platter served in your room.

The package includes return seaplane flights from Rose Bay, lunch, accommodation and cooked breakfast (dinner platter optional on guests own account).
