Situated in eye-wateringly blue waters northwest of Tahiti, in a tropical feast of exotica, laps the scenic home of Hotel Bora Bora, capturing its tropical south Pacific island beauty in its cream, blue and iridescent wake. Nestled into the edge of a lapis and turquoise lagoon, surrounded by fine white powder beaches, back-dropped by a volcanic landscape shimmering in lush virescence, this tropical hideaway is a panoramic Polynesian ‘pearl’, a romantic’s paradise.
Bungalows & Farés
The accommodation at Hotel Bora Bora is interspersed throughout the resort maximising in all instances on its fantastically scenic tropical island setting.
The farés are both within the luxuriant gardens, with their own private pool and, on the beach, a few steps from the water’s edge. There are walkways winding through the resort, linking the amenities and public areas to the peaceful and romantic suites. The farés are an eclectic mix of local materials and style, reminiscent of an old trader’s house: four posters swathed in white gathered netting stand on an expanse of Tasmanian oak floor, while red-cedar walls and ceilings of pandanus lashed to beams of Douglas fir complete this inspiring authentic sea island scene. The over-water bungalows, placed languidly within the lagoon, have picturesque thatched roofs, two tiers of wooden terraced decking with steps down to the water, and uninterrupted views of the lagoon’s splendour. The tropical island ‘fantasy’ is wonderfully fulfilled in these bungalows: ball-and-claw cast-iron baths, sea views from a pristine four-poster, and nature’s luxury underfoot.
Bungalows
These are located on the palm-lined beachfront. Aside from a spacious bedroom and bathroom, they come with a sitting area that leads to a small patio facing the lagoon. Some of these have an elevated sun deck built on columns with steps leading to the beach. All Bungalows are air-conditioned.
Overwater Bungalows
Hotel Bora Bora’s 14 Overwater Bungalows are just that – thatched-roof, tropical-island retreats set directly over the blue lagoon. The water surrounding these bungalows is abundant in coral and marine life. Each air-conditioned Overwater Bungalow features a bedroom with a king-size, four-poster bed, a spacious bathroom and a two-tiered sun deck shaded by a roof of hand-tied pandanus. There is also a shower at water level alongside steps leading into the lagoon.
Pool Farés
The thatched farés are set amidst tropical gardens, with short pathways leading to the lagoon. Enclosed by lava stone walls, these farés have an air-conditioned bedroom and come with a private swimming pool and an outdoor sundeck area. Each Pool Faré measures 117m² including the sun deck.
Beach Farés
These are located in prime beach areas. All come with a living room, an air-conditioned bedroom with a king-size, four-poster bed, an en suite sitting room, a bathroom and a large sun deck. Each Beach Faré covers an area of 82m² including the sun deck.
