Accommodation

Taveuni Island Resort offers guests a choice of 12 luxury ocean view bures and one luxury oceanfront villa, each with spectacular views of the Somosomo Straits.
All bures are over 100 square metres in size and have been built from native Taveuni timbers, with floor to ceiling windows on all sides. All bures have king-sized beds and extend into a lounge with concertina doors opening onto a spacious outdoor living area, taking full advantage of the majestic view of the South Pacific and surrounding Islands. Their decor is tropically inspired, with cool tiles, native floral arrangements and watercolour paintings. All feature private romantic outdoor showers with unlimited hot water.

Oceanfront Bures
These stunning bures have spectacular views over the ocean and surrounding islands. The bures are built of native Fijian timbers which creates a casual tropical elegance, they have towering ceilings and luxury fittings.

From your romantic canopy king sized bed, you can enjoy the stunning sea views, as two walls opening out onto the spacious covered decks. The bedrooms are ensuite with his and hers vanities and indoor and outdoor romantic private shower courtyards with unlimited hotwater, beautiful imported fine white linen, housecoats and slippers.

The lounge also opens on two sides onto the deck and has day beds and comfortable indoor and outdoor furniture, air-conditioning, fans or natural airflow. Coffee and tea facilities, fresh cookies daily, mini bar.

Ocean View Bures
These bures have beautiful views over the ocean and surrounding tropical gardens. They have a separate lounge and ensuite bedroom on a split level. They are furnished exactly the same as all the bures and have the same luxury fittings.

The bedrooms are ensuite with his and hers vanities and indoor and outdoor romantic private shower courtyards, unlimited hot water, hair driers, comfortable indoor and outdoor furniture, beautiful imported fine white linen, air-conditioning, fans or natural airflow. Luxury Duplex Bure
These duplex bures have beautiful views over the ocean and surrounding tropical gardens. They enjoy a huge shared covered deck and their own swimming pool between the bures They have ensuite bedroom on a split level and a small separate lounge.

They are furnished exactly the same as all the bures and have the same luxury fittings.

‘Matalau’ Luxury Oceanfront Honeymoon Villa
Taveuni Island Resort’s premier villa, Matalau (Fijian for everything wonderful and beautiful in life).

This luxury oceanfront villa is situated on one side of the property and it is huge – over 3000 sq feet..!
Made up of four hexagonals, the Matalau Villa has a kitchen wing (the Villa has its own chef and staff), an enormous lounge and two private ensuite bedrooms.

Wherever you look you are surrounded by gorgeous tropical gardens and stunning views. The lounge is spacious and has a towering ceiling. It opens onto huge decks overlooking wide ocean views and a sparkling, bubbling plunge pool.

There are two private ensuite bedrooms both with private romantic indoor and outdoor showers overlooking the ocean, king beds, beautiful imported fine white linen, air-conditioning, fans or natural airflow. Comfortable luxurious indoor and outdoor furniture

There is a path in front of the Villa which leads down to your own private white sand beach. Guests may use all the facilities of the resort.

Matalau Luxury Villa is all-inclusive. This even includes all alcoholic beverages. Villa guests have their own private chef and waiter staff as well as optional butler service.

Cuisine

All meals are prepared using the resorts’ fresh organically grown herbs, fruits, vegetables and salad ingredients, as well as fresh fish caught by the resort or guests. Sumptuous weekly Fijian and Indian night feasts showcase local delicacies.
Taveuni’s kitchen also makes its own mueslis, cookies, cakes, pastas, jams, sauces juices and chutneys, which are fresh and delicious.

Cocktails and exotic fruit juices are served at sunset, followed by evening meals on The Deck with panoramic views. A local feature is tables decorated with Taveuni’s beautiful flowers and lit candles. Couples can arrange for a private dinner for two with personal waiter and musician.
