Qatar Airways is expecting to bring its flagship Airbus A380 to Sydney from June this year.
“We will be operating an Airbus A380 during peak period from June onwards" said Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker.
Al Baker has stated that the airline’s first Sydney-Doha flights are fully booked has hinted at the extension of the Qatar Airways Australian network in the not-too-distant future.
Currently the Sydney-Doha flights operate on a Boeing 777-300ER that features Business and Economy class. But the A380 will introduce First Class and its latest generation of Buiness Class as well as its impressive inflight bar and lounge to the increasingly competitive Australian mix.
Qatar is also set to reveal its new ‘super business class’ seat in November this year, which will feature sliding doors, turning it into a suite-like private cabin.
