Cesme is a port town in Turkey’s westernmost end, with population of around 22,000. The port town is dominated by the medieval Cesme Castle, while the back streets invite a casual stroll with their old Ottoman and Greek houses that charm passers-by.
The cruise port is popular as gateway to a premium but yet affordable holiday resort coastal area. Cesme is 85 kilometres west of İzmir – the biggest port city and metropolitan centre in the Aegean Turkey. There is a 6-lane highway that connects both cities.
