Located in the Main Building above the hotel’s charming colonial-style Grand Lobby, the six Studio Suites invite you to experience Singapore, the Raffles way. About Raffles Hotel Singapore
Opened in 1887, Raffles Singapore is one of the few remaining great 19th century hotels in the world.
Raffles Hotel opened in 1887 as a 10-room bungalow by 2 Armenian brothers. It was named after Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore. Over the years the hotel has evolved into one of the world’s most beloved grand hotels and welcomed celebrities, writers and royalty.
Declared a National Monument in 1987, the hotel has grown from strength to strength.
In March 1989 Raffles closed to enable a complete restoration. The multi-million dollar project would return Raffles to its elegant look of the 1910s and 1920s and ensure its status as one of the world’s Grand Hotels. A second restoration and refurbishment project closed the hotel again in 1987. On August 1, 2019 the hotel re-opened after a three-phase and 30-month detailed top-to-bottom renovation.
Raffles Hotel is located in the heart of Singapore’s business and civic district, just 20 minutes from Changi Airport and a two-minute ride on the Mass Rapid Transit (train) from the bustling Orchard Road shopping strip.
