British Airways is to fly daily between Heathrow and Shanghai from 30 March.
The airline will add another weekly flight on the route next month in addition to its new Chengdu services will be launch on 22 September.
“Shanghai is a very important route for British Airways’ customers, especially for those doing business there. We want companies from China to grow and strengthen in the UK market and for British companies in the UK to thrive in China,” said Jamie Cassidy, BA’s general manager for the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
“This extra service will allow both countries to strengthen their economic ties and demonstrates the importance of China to British Airways and our commitment to grow our presence there,” he added.
