Visa Updates for Stopovers in Brazil and China

Brazil Consulate Sydney increases visa processing delay to 30 business days

Jurisdiction: Residents of NSW, NT and QLD

The Consulate of Brazil in Sydney has today advised that the processing delay for all visa types has increased to 30 business days. Please consider this a minimum issuing delay and apply well in advance of travel.

Stopovers in China

On January 1, 2013, Beijing and Shanghai started a 72-hour visa-free stay policy for citizens of 45 countries if the tourists are holding third country visas (if required) and relevant air tickets. They can apply for a transit without visa (TWOV) in Beijing (at Beijing Capital International Airport) or Shanghai (at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport or Pudong International Airport).

Please note that conditions apply to the aforementioned TWOV policy. For details on these conditions please follow the online steps on the Visas Direct website and select “transit” as the purpose of travel.
