Singapore Airlines Boosts Flight Frequency of Services from Australia

Singapore Airlines

In a major boost for Australian travellers, Singapore Airlines has announced a permanent fifth daily service from Sydney Airport, a move which returns the number of daily flights to pre-pandemic levels.  Other Australian cities have also been ear-marked for seasonal increases in flights, but travellers will have to wait until March next year.

Sydney: Singapore Airlines Awaits You!

Starting from October 27, 2024, Sydney will witness the introduction of a new early morning flight at 6:45 AM to Singapore, enhancing its winter schedule for a six-month period, pending official sanctioning. Sydney Airport is set to become the airline’s most significant hub outside of Singapore, offering upwards of 12,000 seats weekly.

This addition by Singapore Airlines not only widens the travel options for those flying out of Sydney to 72 global destinations, including spots in Europe, the UK, and Asia, but it also marks a notable increase in connectivity and convenience.

The CEO of Sydney Airport, Geoff Culbert, expressed his pride in the partnership: “Sydney Airport is really proud to be Singapore Airlines’ home away from home, and it is clear that Sydneysiders can’t get enough of their world-class service."

He further added the benefits this increased frequency would bring: “Not only will this extra flight from Singapore Airlines offer Australians heading overseas more choice, but it will also help boost the number of visitors, especially from Asia and Europe."

Emphasising the airline’s recovery and commitment to Sydney, Singapore Airlines Regional Vice President South West Pacific, Mr. Louis Arul, reiterated the airline’s expansion: “We are pleased to be able to bring our Sydney flights back to our pre-Covid frequency of five flights daily."

Mr. Arul further stated the resurgence in travel demand: “Demand for travel to and from Sydney has bounced back strongly from the pandemic and the additional daily service will provide further room for growth as travellers enjoy more connecting options through Singapore Changi Airport to major cities in Asia and Europe."
