FeaturedTrip Was Wonderful Thanks!
Lounges:
The China Southern Lounge in Guangzhou was fine. The premium plaza lounges in Au and London are of course shared with multiple airlines and allow non business passengers to pay and come in. As a consequence overcrowded at Heathrow ,and not a great lounge experience . Sydney seemed to be using Air China lounge as an overflow.
Flights
Crew
Return better than outbound - I think because the English skills of the crew were better
English general fine - but I had the feeling could get tricky if you were to ask anything slightly left of field.
most of the crew very friendly and keen to help. (one wasn’t - but I think this was lack of confidence with english rather than anything else)
Seats
No mattress covers as you know - but this is no issue
Rest of chair and features as per other airlines - fine
orientation of certain seats made you feel you were lying in the aisle- but this may be the same on other airlines - I cant remember
Warm quilit
Clean
In flight entertainment
A far reduced selection compared to Emirates and likely others- but I was able to find something to watch -. If you dont sleep though then running out of suitable to watch could be an issue
Food/ drink
You have to order you food for the flight before take off
There doesn’t appear to be the ability to ask for additional food or drink during the flight- but I didnt test this (but would be an issue for some)(my husband!)
Yes there was a selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drink available- but it wasn’t as free flowing as I have seen on other airlines! Good for your health!
Food overall was fine
Other interesting points
fancy glasses brought out for the champagne
Qigong exercises ensured for all at end of flight
Overall I would fly China Southern again to Europe as my main reason to fly business is to lie flat and if there is a direct flight from Adelaide to Guangzhou then it makes it a good option for me.
It doesn’t have the luxury feel of some other airlines -both in the air and in the lounge and the apparent lack of food/dirink on demand once in the air  and limited entertainment options would be a drawback for some. So good for a business-business trip if you get my drift- but some may be disappointed if this trip was part of  a luxury holiday and they were not aware.
