Airfare Details

Thai Airways, which has searched for some years to find the right mix, is making a strong comeback with a new Business Class product called, unsurprisingly, Royal Silk Class.

Coinciding with a new brand image and livery change for the airline as a whole, the new business class product features seats that recline a full 170 degrees on the new A340-500s plying the groundbreaking 17-hour Bangkok-New York nonstop route.

Airbus A340s and retro-fitted B747-400 aircraft also offer generous 170-degree recline. The A-340 aircraft are flying Bangkok to New York, Los Angeles, Auckland and Zurich. Personal entertainment options have started appearing with large 10.4-inch screens and a choice of over 30 films and documentaries on all classes on A340-500 and A340-600 aircraft. New livery and entertainment is being gradually introduced to the THAI longhaul fleet.

Travel First Class with Thai and relax on reclining sleeper seats in an opulently appointed cabin while enjoying an array of delicious dishes served on fine chinaware with silverware and place settings.

Meals are accompanied by fine champagnes, like Cuvee Dom Perignon 1996 and La Grande Dam 1995, Veuve Clicquot as well as carefully selected wines. Complimentary drinks are available at any time during the flight except take-off and landing.

A personal seat-mattress and duvet blanket are provided on lie flat beds on most long haul flights. Business Class Amenities Royal Silk Class cabins are elegant and comfortable in every aspect including a bespoke amenity kit with designer toiletries and accessories. On long-haul flights socks and slippers are provided, while Royal Silk Class lavatories are stocked soft hand towels, moisturizers and fragrances for refreshment at any time during the flight. Business Class Cuisine Begin the culinary journey in Royal Silk Class with a hot towel and a choice of champagne, or juice prior to take-off. Once airborne, the gracious service by dedicated Royal Silk Class cabin continues during in-flight meal service and throughout the flight with meticulous attention to detail. On most regional and intercontinental flights, dining begins with a small appetizer to tease the palate, followed by a light first course, a fresh salad and perhaps a house-made terrine, a choice of hot main courses often matched to the preferred tastes of those traveling on specific routes, a selection of cheese accompanied by fruit and a dessert to end with coffee or tea. A selection of beverages, including handpicked wine, fine spirit, soft drink and juice are served to accompany each meal, and are available throughout the flight. THAI now offers the Pre-Select Meals service to Royal Silk Class passengers on all international flights departing from or when transiting through Bangkok. Passengers can select their preferred meals at least 72 hours before departure at thaiairways.com or contact their travel specialist. For passengers with particular religious, health, or dietary preferences, you can order special meals in advance. Business Class Entertainment A personal TV screen with a wide variety of entertainment along with an in-seat power outlet is provided in most of THAI's aircraft as an electrical power outlet and/or a USB port to charge electronic devices.
